There is hardly any Android user today who has never run out of memory on their phone. As you know, there are several ways to solve this problem. You can try clearing memory using built-in tools, third-party services, or even typing a simple key combination in the caller. Today we want to tell you how you can optimize free space with the help of a small but extremely useful application.
The Disk Analyzer and Cleanup app will help you keep the inside of your phone clean and prevent it from overflowing significantly. With the help of simple visualization tools and powerful search capabilities, you can control the amount of storage space and you will always know the main “devourers” of your megabytes.
All information is analyzed within a few seconds at the first start of the application and is displayed in the form of visual infographics. And one of the main features of the application, which distinguishes it from many other similar services, is the ability to integrate cloud services for analysis, providing the user with clear tools for cleaning them.
Disk analysis and cleaning application
The main screen of the application is divided into several categories:
File category. Analyze files into categories: videos, pictures, music, documents. When you reach this section, it immediately becomes clear to you which file types take up the most space on your phone. After long-clicking on any folder in this section, you will be taken to the “Quick Search” section, where you can find out more about the files and, if necessary, delete them from the device.
My records. The following is a summary of the disks on which your free space is divided, as well as the cache of all applications. The pie chart below clearly shows the distribution of files by category. By clicking on any domain, you go to the corresponding section, where you can edit or delete files directly from the application.
Disk diagram. An interactive section with more detailed information about file sizes in categories and how they relate to each other.
Catalog files. This section is the main cleaning tool that displays all free space users, the number of files and their weight in each individual folder. For example, by opening the “data” drive and going to the “Directory Files” section, you can see how many temporary files were created in a particular program, how much space they take up, and how much cache has been accumulated while using it.
How to work with the application
When it first launches, the application will perform a scan, the progress of which is displayed at the top of the screen. Click on one of the disks (Save, Data, System) and immediately go to the “File Categories” section, where the most greedy folders of the selected disk will be displayed from top to bottom.
We check the content and, if necessary, delete all the unnecessary. For a more detailed analysis or delete group, hold your finger on any folder or file and go to the “Quick Search” section.
Here we do a group cleanup, after which we go to the “Directory Files” section, also paying attention to the thickest folders and applications. We dig deep inside, paying close attention to junk folders such as “.thumbnails”, “.public_cache”, “screenshots”. Folders can be deleted completely by holding your finger on the unnecessary file.
To see the “tops” among all the files on the selected disk, open “Options” by clicking the button in the upper left corner and go to “Larger Files”. Here you can select the top 10, 50, 100 heavier files. After cleaning, we return to the “My discs” section and select the next disc.
Connecting cloud services
From the Options menu, you can connect your cloud storage to the application. To do this, open the drop-down menu by clicking the small arrow and select “Add disk ….. (name of your cloud)”. To date, the application supports cloud storage from Yandex, Google and Dropbox.
After the above steps, you will be redirected to the authorization page of the selected service, where you will need to confirm the connection of the Disk Analysis and Cleanup application with the storage. The connected cloud service will appear in the My Disks section. After that, you can proceed with its cleaning according to the same scenario.
Among other things, the Disk Analysis and Cleanup app lets you control free disk space (including clouds) using visual widgets on the main screen. With their help, you will always know how much free space certain categories take up without entering the storage space.
Disk Analyzer & Cleanup is a simple and visual space optimization tool that will help you get rid of junk in time and keep your smartphone clean.
