The Orekhovo-Zuevsky branch of the Mosoblles GKU MO has developed a plan for extinguishing forest fires. The technical readiness of the forest fire stations is checked every week, the workers process tactics and techniques for the elimination of natural fires.

Persuasion and punishment

On average, the forests in our area belong to category 2-3 of natural fires. In each of the 14 regional forest departments, into which the Orekhovo-Zuevskoye forest department is divided, there are areas with low fire risk and high, category 5. But it is impossible to distinguish areas with the highest fire probability – it can happen anywhere the foot can a person’s.

Weather is also important: it is clear that if the summer is rainy, then the forest will burn less often. And if it blows, then even a random spark can create a serious problem. For example, in 2021, the number of fires in our forests was reduced by half and their total area was 5-10 times smaller compared to the previous two years. Several factors were affected: the cases were located in easily accessible places, as a result of which they were identified and eliminated quickly and there was no strong wind, which quickly lit the fire. Forest officials are confident that they have begun to give results and explanatory precautionary measures to the population.

For those who can not be caught with the power of persuasion, there are penalties: for violating the rules of fire safety in forests, which caused a forest fire without causing serious harm to human health, a fine of 5,000 rubles per person and from 250,000 to 500,000 rubles for legal entity. Arsonists are identified with the involvement of the investigative bodies of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police.

On the ground and in the air

Forest fires are tracked in three ways: with the help of CCTV cameras integrated into system 112, aviation surveillance managed by the Avialesokhrana Federal Financial Institution, and ground patrols. All the provincial forest administrations have 71 routes, ie about five for each. Foresters are constantly touring the sites, preparing two or three routes daily.

A total of about 3,000 kilometers are ground patrol routes on the territory of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky Forest Service.

Contribute to the detection of forest fires and caring for citizens who, when they see a fire, call either the forest department itself or 112.

Obstacles to fire and people

The fire fund regulation of the forest fund includes a series of measures. These include the installation and cleaning of metallized strips.

About 450 kilometers of mineralized strips are found in the forests of the area.

There were 148 km of clearings at the entrance of the forestry, now about 15 km of them have been cleared. Repair or replace obstacles in specially visited places. By the way, such obstacles help to fight not only those who want to go to the forest for a picnic, but also stop offenders trying to leave the trash somewhere under a bush.

Eight dams have now been set up in the forestry area, for example, at the forest entrance at the turn from the Gorky Highway to the village of Gorodishchi, near the village of Lake Isaakievsky.

For those who want to spend time outdoors, special recreation areas are equipped with kiosks, benches and barbecue areas. Their number is increasing every year. For example, by this summer there will be four new recreational areas in the Gorodishchensky forestry area, three in the Malaya Dubna area, one near the village of Petrushino and others.

“Every year I really look forward to spring to see how nature wakes up, the trees are covered with tender young foliage. “I would like to ask all residents not to throw rubbish, not to set fires and to remember that forest conservation is our common cause,” said Larisa Sinyavina, a resident of the area.

To fight forest fires in the area, three forest fire stations have been fully prepared, 37 employees of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky forest department have been trained.

“In the last two years, we have been doing a lot of pre-election work, especially on the eve of the fire season. We are constantly traveling to rural settlements, SNTs, territorial sections, conducting preventive conversations with people, distributing information material about the unacceptable burning of grass and fire in the forest area. In March, for example, foresters made at least five visits to the SNT each week. Our employees come to the schools to tell the children about the care of nature, they actively patrol the traditional recreation areas, where they also perform explanatory work. I believe that all these efforts have begun to bear fruit “, said Svetlana Churaeva, engineer for protection and forest protection of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky forestry.
