On the festive weekend of May 2 and 3, the picturesque cherry orchards near the village of Rechnoye in the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea were transformed into an open-air concert hall. The premiere events of the Nature of Art Festival, organized by the Sevastopol Ball group, took place here – an opera performance, a jazz concert and a children’s fairy tale game based on Alice in Wonderland. More than 700 people became spectators of the events – they came to the spring gardens from all over the Crimea.
The events were dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian artist I.K. Aivazovsky. Real “live” images unfolded in front of the festival guests – theatrical, musical and dance performances. The work is based on the combination of the beauty of the stunning nature of the Crimea and art.
A children’s game based on the fairy tale “Alice in Wonderland” took place on the morning of May 2nd. In the spring gardens, the young spectators went on a magical adventure, during which, together with Alice, they met their favorite fairy tale characters – the Caterpillar, the Cheshire cat, the Alarm Clock, the happy Hat, the Red Queen, also . such as The Nutcracker and the beautiful Maria, The Golden Rooster, Cinderella, The Squirrel by Tsar Saltan and many other heroes of legendary fairy tales, brought to life by the actors of the Luch Puppet Theater, the artist of the authentic genre Yog Kolonin and the wonderful Oleg Pronin Sergey Khrapin. The little guests played Flamingo cricket and a caterpillar card, danced, did a lot of work to come to a happy ending of the fairy tale – go back in time and create their own, happy future.
On the same day, a jazz concert was held, which was dedicated to the World Jazz Day and the 100th anniversary of Russian jazz, being a bright and colorful “image” of the Nature of Art Festival. The event featured golden hits of New Orleans classical jazz, familiar Russian melodies and incendiary Latin American compositions.
For several hours, the spring garden was filled with magical music by the stars of the Crimean jazz scene – Jazz Trio “A3”, singers Anna Shakel and Maxim Medvedev, musicians Viktor Nikulin, Maxim Perov and Vitaly Zamyatin. One of the most impressive moments of the evening, the guests, without saying a word, named the distribution of maracas to all the spectators, something that allowed them to join in a rhythm with the music and become participants in the concert.
The final event of the Nature of Art Festival was an opera concert, which took place on May 3rd. The event featured world opera masterpieces accompanied by dance compositions in the ballroom. Among the sunny landscapes of Crimea, arias were heard from famous operas and operettas of musical geniuses – Strauss, Puccini, Kalman, Lehar, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Verdi, Donizetti, Rossini and.

A unique accompaniment to the big arias and a real decoration of the event were beautiful couples swirling in the dance – participants in the Sevastopol Ball of different years, performing waltzes, quartets, polka dots, gallops and foxtrot in the country under the guidance of the dancing teacher. Dmitry Platov. The entertainer of the event was Vitaly Omelchenko – artist of the Academic Theater of Sevastopol. AV Lunacharsky.
“Our festival is dedicated to the great painter Aivazovsky and now the feelings of our team are comparable to the feelings of an artist who painted a wonderful canvas. Everything was very difficult, it was not easy, the blows did not always go as you wanted, but as a result, you go back and understand that you will get a masterpiece. The nature of Crimea is an inspiration. We are glad that in such a difficult time we managed to organize such a festival, to set the mood of the people and, even for a while, to make them happier. “This event is dedicated to the beauty of the moment, it is about life, about the future, which, we believe, will be bright and happy,” said Ekaterina Grafodatskaya, head of the festival’s organizing team.
The organizers plan to continue the Nature of Art Festival in four more locations: in lavender, in a rose plantation, on the beach and in vineyards. Each outdoor area will also host a children’s show, contemporary jazz and opera concerts. You can find out when the next events of the festival will take place on the website Sevastopol ball and on the project page at social network “VKontakte”.
