brutal restaurants and pubs in Moscow in the style of Guy Ritchie movies – Afisha-Restaurants

  • On May 26, the hot drama “Boiling Point” about the difficult life of a chef is released, starring Guy Ritchie’s favorite, Steven Graham. We tell you in which institutions of the capital the atmosphere is no less fiery – in the spirit of the best British action movies.

  • Black Swan Pub
  • Pub-museum in Solyanka

  • The most beautiful and mysterious pub of the capital is located in a building famous for the salt marshes in which you can get lost. Indeed, you can come here as a museum: all the interior details, furniture, wooden wall panels and many old gizmos were transported from Ireland and Great Britain. Vintage mirrors, books, clocks, copper utensils, a stuffed peacock and even a huge bar counter that came straight from the closed old Irish pub Black Swan – Denis Bobkov, co-founder of Publife Group, bought it at auction. Each of the many rooms on the first and lower floors of the Black Swan has its own character and mood: here you can feel like a hooligan and an aristocrat. The food here is also difficult: the head of the kitchen is the talented chef Artem Mukhin.

  • Mandy’s Apothecary Irish Pub
  • Bar-pharmacy in Kuznetsky Most

  • From the threshold you enter the authentic atmosphere of one of those pubs in Dublin, where experienced bartenders will help you to renew not only the body but also the soul: restrained light-colored, dark wooden furniture, English wallpaper with curls. The theme of the pharmacy is supported by numerous antique vials in special glass cabinets around the perimeter of the store and other vintage details that visitors see while waiting for their meal, cocktail or beer mug. The food here is hearty for real Brits: fish and chips, burgers, sandwiches, chopped steak, pork ribs, beef tail soup and other chicken wings. And Irish breakfast is available all day. Here it is customary to talk to bartenders and neighbors at the bar, especially if you spend the night alone.

  • “Beluga”
  • Respectable restaurant with rock chefs

  • The restaurant on the second floor of the National Hotel was spotted by Michelin experts in 2021 and received a star from the famous guide. Since then, there is a queue of foreign guests, which is not so many in the capital now, but here it is enough. The secret of success lies not only in the festive view from the windows to the Kremlin and Manezhnaya Square, but also in the gastronomy: the kitchen here is managed by a chef from St. Petersburg with a rock past and no less tattooed by Evgeny Vikentiev. The chef’s informal appearance is the best contrast to the verified Michelin serving: Evgeny loves to go out into the room and communicate with guests.

  • Abbey players
  • Theater, beer and sake

  • Another amazing play by Denis Bobkov, for which he brought an entire … theater to Moscow from Ireland. The pub in Novy Arbat takes its name from Ireland’s first National Theater Abbey, which opened in Dublin on December 27, 1904 and was filled with a variety of period costumes, jewelry, books, photographs, suitcases, hair brushes, mirrors, chandeliers, dolls and bottles. You can sit behind the bar on the ground floor, in the gallery under the roof or on the minus first floor, where there is also a tent. In the evenings real shows are played between the pub tables, tickets are bought in advance, and in the back room, just behind the old theatrical dresses, you can find a secret sake bar.

  • Outsider
  • Snack for bullies

  • If the heroes of Guy Ritchie’s films ended up in Moscow, then this restaurant in the courtyards of Maroseyka would definitely be on the list to visit. The name Underdog translates from English as “dispossessed”, but the brutal guests of the shop with tattoos on their necks and elsewhere successfully escape the hardships of life by eating American fast food hits. Hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, mac and cheese, sweet potato chips and chopper soup are ordered by guests at the bar and, upon receipt of the order, are eaten right there or taken out in the courtyard at the entrance. It’s hard to get comfortable in this tiny bar, but it’s easy to feel the driving atmosphere.

  • Chelsea Gastropub
  • English pub with good food

  • A well-known pub in Moscow on Maly Gnezdnikovsky Lane is another piece of the great British legend. A meringue-colored pub with portraits of the benevolent Churchill and her age-old Majesty is well known to many Albion Fog fans. The cuisine is set as British and in all the former British colonies, something that gives chefs only common sense, unlimited scope for creativity: there is grilled meat and fish, burger, gazpacho, and even chocolate candy.

  • From May 26, you can visit a gourmet restaurant in London without leaving the cinema: the dramatic thriller Boiling Point» Phil Barantini about one night as a chef. The film, shot in many shots, brings the viewer to the same boiling point: the boss is overcome by personal problems, the employees get angry, the partner demands the repayment of the debt and at the same time an unplanned check comes. An hour and a half will fly in nervous tension, it will be hot both in the kitchen and in the hall.
