In Moscow, work continues on the restoration of the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo Natural and Historical Park.
“Large-scale landscaping work has started in Moscow, which we traditionally carry out every summer. In recent years, about 800 parks and areas have been restored, reconstructed, rebuilt. This year, according to the plan, seven soils were placed: large, large traditional natural areas. Perhaps the biggest environmental project is the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo Park. More than 200 hectares. Near Shchukinsky Park. “Their total area is about 276 hectares,” said Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, all work is scheduled to be completed by city day.
The park is located between the south bank of the Khimki Reservoir and the Volokolamsk highway, it is a huge green area of over 200 hectares. About 120,000 Muscovites, living in the Voikovsky and Pokrovskoye-Stresnevo regions, rest here.
The idea of restoring the park was developed by order of the Moscow government. It was named “Five Parks in One”. Before starting work on this issue, the Muscovites spoke at the Active Citizen portal. The majority of those who voted – over 70 percent – supported the ideas that are now being implemented.
“We have been discussing the project with the residents for a long time in order to preserve nature and give modern use to the tens of thousands of Muscovites who come here to relax,” said Sergei Sobyanin. – There will be many parks here: a protected core, a recreation area, a historic site and a sports venue. “All this creates opportunities for quiet, relaxing holidays and active sports,” added the Mayor of Moscow.
The central part – the nature park – will remain natural protected area. The specialists will repair all the necessary infrastructure.
Another natural area will be ecological and educational park. Here the ecological path and the observation deck will be repaired. For a safe approach to the source, Tsarevna Lebed will equip the floor, strengthen the slope and block the springs.
The main sports infrastructure will be located in the northern part of the park along the Leningrad highway. IN THE sports park is planned to equip two streetball courts, an area with table tennis tables and a training area for fans of extreme sports – a professional skate park.
In addition, Ivankovskiye Ponds will have amusement and recreation park. The old kiosks will be replaced with modern and more comfortable ones, additional toilets will be installed and a garbage collection system will be organized. In the 6th lake Ivankovsky will be placed wooden footbridges with recreation areas near the water, they will be put in order and the existing ones will be integrated. In place of the old sports facilities, new ones will be created (without increasing the area). They will play beach volleyball. The playground will also be improved.
The fifth park will be the area around the temple and the Pokrovskoye-Glebovo estate, historical and cultural park. The layout will be reconstructed according to historical plans. There will be a regular garden and a landscape park. The specialists will restore the main residence of the estate, the historic fence and the corner brick tower.
During these works, 2478 trees and 36 thousand shrubs will be planted, more than 1.4 thousand small architectural forms, more than two thousand outdoor lighting columns and 170 video surveillance cameras, 27 kiosks and 10 toilets will be equipped.
About 650 people and 100 pieces of equipment are participating in the works. The restoration of the park is scheduled to be completed this fall.
At the same time, specialists are working on the maintenance and restoration of Shchukin Park and All Saints Grove. They are located on the other side of the Volokolamsk highway. As a result, a single green space with a total area of over 270 hectares will appear in the northwest of Moscow.
Improving parks and emblematic objects in Moscow. Plans for 2022
Since 2011, the government of Moscow has put in order and formed 886 park areas with a total area of about 19.5 thousand hectares. Muscovites believe that parks have been transformed into radically new modern facilities that allow you to relax within walking distance of the house. In summer, you can use bike paths, sports fields, training and in winter – ski slopes, ice rinks and slides.
This year, seven natural spaces and parks will be put in order. These are Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, Bitsevsky Forest, Kuskovo, Schukinsky Park and All Saints Grove, two sections of the Yauza River floodplain, the site of the Avangard Stadium. They will also pay attention to parks and green spaces in residential areas.
Work has now begun on nearly 3,000 installations included in the 2022 Global Improvement Plan. Among them are 126 flagship objects, roads and park areas, 2,749 yards, quarters and more. More than 43.3 thousand people are involved in this, 16.2 thousand pieces of equipment are involved.
As the training process is completed, specialists begin to improve the areas of 193 training facilities.
