Where to go with the whole family in Russia – Moscow 24, 24.05.2022

The school year has come to an end, which means that it is time to choose where to go on vacation with the children. The younger generation is tired of geometry and irregular verbs, the older generation is tired of references and other work cases. We are talking about the best destinations in Russia, where adults can gain strength for the coming year and children can be inspired to compose “How I Spent Summer”.

Stanitsa Golubitskaya, Sea of Azov

The Sea of Azov transcends the Black Sea in many ways. It is the smallest in the world, there is a gentle entrance to the water, which is very important on holidays with children. The beaches are sandy and shell-like, clean, the infrastructure is there, but it is not overloaded. There are also budget resorts here and housing is represented mainly by the private sector and cheap hostels (on average, from 1,500 rubles per day per room for two adults and one child).

For children, there are water parks (Sea Reef and Olympia), an aquarium, an amusement park and a crocodile farm. Adults will appreciate the mud volcanoes and mud baths, as well as the beautiful nature and a good selection of restaurants.

How to get there: by plane or train to Anapa or Krasnodar, from there by bus or taxi to the village. You can also take the train to Temryuk Station, but from there it is another 10 km to Golubitskaya.

White Sea

It is not the most obvious destination for summer travel, but it will definitely appeal to lovers of active and educational leisure. It is best to go there with a group (usually small – up to 15 people). Excursions to the Karelian coast are considered the most suitable for children, but keep in mind that they usually do not take children under the age of seven.

You will live in villages of Karelia, where you can get acquainted with the life of the locals and nature. Children will learn to navigate the forest and identify plants, talk about local animals and take them to a kennel. Also in the program are excursions to waterfalls, the Arctic Circle, deer habitats and swamps. There will definitely be boat trips to the islands, from where you can see the open sea and traces of glaciers.

How to get there: groups usually depart by train from Leningradsky Railway Station, en route – about a day. You can also leave St. Petersburg (on the way – about 16 hours) and combine the trip with a visit to the Northern Capital.

Altai Mountain

This is a unique place: tourists will find not only the nature of incredible beauty and diversity, but also mystical “places of power”, archeological sites and ancient legends. Vacation in Altai usually includes many excursions and active hobbies. Both adults and children will be interested in seeing lakes and waterfalls, climbing caves and the Che-Chkysh Mountain Gorge, hiking and climbing one of the peaks (tourists usually use a lift, for example). , Mount Sinyukha).

You do not need to be in great shape to go on a family tour in Altai, but keep in mind that heart or blood pressure problems can affect long-distance travel: in such cases, it is best to refuse them.

How to get there: by plane to Gorno-Altaisk and then by bus.

Αδύγεα

Adygea is attractive for its nature, lack of crowds of tourists and great opportunities for outdoor activities. The most interesting objects are gathered near the village of Kamennomostsky: there is a strange museum of local history, the Mishoko Gorge, where sites of ancient people have been preserved and the highlight of the program is the Rufabgo Gorge with waterfalls. Here you can also drive jeeps and ATVs with beautiful views and rafting on the Belaya River. Although mountainous, it has very calm and gentle areas that even a child can handle.

How to get there: by plane or train to Maykop or Krasnodar, from there by bus to the village of Kamennomostsky (from Maykop – 1.5 hours, from Krasnodar – 4 hours).

Vladimir region

Another place where you can raft along the rivers, but closer to the capital. Not far from Murom (which is a beautiful old town) flows the Tesha, which flows into the Oka. This is a narrow, winding, but very calm river, so children are allowed to raft along it.

Another great place for rafting is Sudogda: it is clean and transparent, the view is on pine forests and fields. Rafting is easy, no experience required, along the way there will be stops for swimming and relaxing on the beach and if you want you can go fishing and pick berries and mushrooms in the forest during the season.

How to get there: by train or electric train to Vladimir (from Kursk train station), on the road – 2.5–3.5 hours, from there – by tour bus.
