Yesterday was World Environment Day. I congratulate the ecologists and all the Muscovites for this kind and wonderful vacation.
Fresh air, clear water from rivers and lakes, lush parks and natural areas are the invaluable wealth of Moscow, available to every resident of the city.
But how well do we know the nature of Moscow? Thanks to his favorite fairy tales, any preschooler can easily name a dozen African birds and animals treated by the kind doctor Aibolit.
And if you ask about the inhabitants of the forest parks of Moscow, then, except for the squirrels, the children, most likely, will not remember anyone. It is a pity.
To at least partially correct this situation, in recent years we have opened special ones environmental and training centers “Mospriroda”.
They are in natural areas and parks, they say, they surprise, they teach. And most importantly, they instill in children and adults the love and respect for nature.
There are already 10 eco-centers in Moscow, which were visited by about 330,000 people last year.
I will talk about some eco-centers in this post.
“Forest fairy tale”
The eco-center opened in 2018 in the Bitsa recreation area of the Bitsevsky Forest natural and historical park.
The exhibition “Forest Fairy Tale” was created in collaboration with child psychologists, ecologists and biologists of the capital. The exhibits organically affect the emotions of children and adults, creating the effect of being in a natural area.
In a few minutes before their eyes there is a miracle of spring rebirth of life, replaced by the bright colors of summer and autumn and the serene calm of winter.
Children love the exhibition, where they can independently “excavate” and discover the ruins of ancient animals. Tracers will also have the opportunity to see in the “winter glade” the traces of animals that live in our area.
In the ecological center you can breathe the rich aromas of the forest…
And listen to the voices of birds nesting in the territory of Moscow and the Moscow region.

“Ecologist of Moscow”
One of the most unusual ecological centers. It is located on the ship, anchored on the shore of the Khimki reservoir.
Previously, the ship was used as an environmental laboratory. And in 2019, after reconstruction and equipping with new equipment, opened here the first environmental center for water in Russia.
On the lower deck there is a museum of the Moscow River.
Particularly popular is the captain’s virtual cabin – an exact replica of the real one.
Upstairs there are classrooms and activities with children.

The ecological center in Kuskovo Forest Park attracts visitors with its bright facade.
As part of the Kuskovo Green Fest art festival, Russia’s largest environmental street art project was realized here – 35 paintings on an area of 1.5 thousand square meters. m. The creation of graffiti involved professional artists, volunteers, eco-activists, children and parents – more than 200 people.
The idea was fully justified – the number of visitors to the Kuskovo Ecological School has increased several times.
No one passes. The Muscovites take photos with a background of picturesque walls, they register for excursions.
And there is something to see in the ecocenter.
There are two exhibition halls with an interactive exhibition that allow you to learn what the blocked corners of our country, which are not aware of human influence, look like, and to compare them with the world created by humans.
At the service of the guests there is a cinema room, an environmental monitoring laboratory, rooms for circular lessons and master classes.
The eco-center has separate garbage collection points. The “good lids” and the “good things” are gathered here.

It was created in the Terletsky Forest Park, which is part of the Izmailovo Natural and Historical Park.
At “Horse Yard” you can talk with horses …
Or take part in theme parks in the forest park with its ancient ponds and oak forests.
Preschool and elementary school children set aside gadgets for interactive outdoor programs.
There are exciting creative workshops to create products from natural materials and recycled materials.

Floriculture and Beekeeping at VDNKh
For environmental education, we actively use the updated and popular VDNKh.
Last year, the Floriculture Ecocenter operated in booth No. 29 “Floriculture and Landscaping”.
In the “Ant House” with the help of special glasses, you can see the anthill from inside and live the life of an ant.
An interactive multimedia space dedicated to butterflies was created at the Metamorphoses of Nature art pavilion.
Of great interest are the interactive installations, a photo booth and a special pride of the eco-centric – a holographic cinema.
The ecocenter hosts master classes, lectures, seminars and other events for children and adults on gardening, landscaping and landscape design.
Nearby is another ecological center – “Beekeeping”.
In the VR zone for games, guests can participate in the process of collecting and exporting honey. A transparent display hive will help you see the life of the bees “from within”.
Eco-centers in Moscow appeared not so long ago, but have already won the sympathy of citizens of all ages. We will expand this network by opening new locations in parks and natural areas, so that from childhood, Muscovites can learn and love their native nature as much as possible.
