Archaeological Adventures in Tel Ashkelon

The first person to decide to dig in the Land of Israel was Lady Hester Stanhope and it happened in Ashkelon. No, she was not an archaeologist at all and was not interested in ancient civilizations, her goal was to search for ancient treasures. Since then, many scientists have excavated the site of the modern Tel Ashkelon Park, discovering unique finds, including the oldest Canaanite arched gate, a Roman basilica decorated with statues and marble columns, ancient wells and more. Visiting the tour, you will not only see all this with your own eyes, but you will also learn the details of the history of ancient Ashkelon. The duration of the walk is about two hours, so we suggest you wear comfortable shoes.

Battles near the beach in Apollonia

We invite you to the Apollonia National Park, which is located on a rocky cliff near Herzliya Pituah. During the tour, you will be offered a trip to the past, referring to the various periods of history that have left their mark on these places. You will see with your own eyes a Roman villa, a Muslim defense point, an ancient fortress, a crusader moat and much more. In such a picturesque place, they will tell you about the battles between the Muslims and the Crusaders, as well as about who finally won. Elements of these battles – siege engines are still standing at the entrance of the fort, and next to them are fired weapons of impressive size, discovered during the excavations. The duration of the tour is about 1.5 hours.

Waterfalls also bloom at the Nahal Ayun Nature Reserve

Ayun Bay, named after the nature reserve, flows north of the country through a beautiful gorge and waterfalls from the Ayun Valley in Galilee to the Hula Valley. Power, nature and scenery at Yehiam Fortress

Take a walk in the ruins of this impressive fortress of the Crusaders and the Ottomans. Here, looking at Western Galilee from the height of the fortress walls, one can fully feel what the words “power, nature and landscape” mean. In search of the latest crocodile in Nahal Taninim

The name of these places does not come simply from the word “tannin”, because until the middle of the 19th century, huge three-meter crocodiles were found in this stormy stream! These days it is just nice to walk along the cool water and enjoy the abundant flowering, the vegetation of the river and the many waterfowl around.
