“Understanding the basics of his specialty is the key to a young specialist” – WKO businessman

Do employers see the name of the educational institution in the CV or does it matter? What is important for an employer when applying yesterday’s student to work and what specialties are in demand? The situation is important both for university and college graduates who are already preparing to receive a diploma, and for applicants who are simply choosing an educational institution for their future profession. Talgat BEREKESHEV, head of Kublei LLP, one of the largest processing companies in Kazakhstan, shared his views on these issues.

Kublei LLP is active in the production of fresh, chilled meat, as well as in the production of canned products. LLP, founded in 1992, successfully produces high quality products and is a leader in Kazakhstan in its field.

– Talgat Malikovic, Which specialties are most in demand today in your business?

– Our company belongs to the food processing industry. Given that our deep processing in the agro-industrial complex is not developed in our country, many food processors, including us, face a severe shortage of narrow specialists, for example, technologists with already existing work experience. The plant also needs quality managers, electrical engineers and equipment integration engineers with English proficiency. Once the factory is operational, it can no longer stop, many processes and people are involved.

– Do you employ young professionals who have graduated from universities?

– Yes, of course, we accept university graduates. In addition, many of them come to us from universities and work for 10-20 years, gain experience, become professionals in their field.

– Are there any specialists in your company who came to work immediately after graduation as ordinary specialists and gradually rose in the career?

– Yes, for example, we have technologist surgeons, construction site foremen, they started with the foreman apprentices when they came to work after graduating from universities. And we have many such workers.

– Do you agree that it is profitable for a company to hire a new specialist, because you can “grow” an employee “for yourself” from him?

– I agree, but this only happens if the young specialist has a solid foundation to understand the basics of his specialty. In my practice, I will say that it takes at least 3 years to teach a student the basics of a profession and 6-7 years to make him a specialist.

Does your company have more new employees or middle-aged and older?

“Our team is mainly young. The average age of the employees in the team is from 30 to 40 years.

– In your opinion, what kind of specialists will your company need in 3-4 years?

– We definitely need technical workers with knowledge of foreign languages.

What personal qualities should an employee of your company have?

– An employee, in my opinion, should be responsible, productive (hardworking), social, able to work in a large team and have principles in achieving the tasks assigned to him.

– Talgat Malikovich, thank you for your answers and for your time with us.

The head of Kublei LLP, in a conversation with a journalist, noted that now and in the future there will be a demand for specialists in technical specialties.

However, the educational reforms in the Republic of Kazakhstan speak for themselves that the future is more focused on technical specialties or related fields of activity. The rapidly changing situations in the economic market and the labor market dictate their conditions, and therefore the vocational training of staff should be oriented to the new socio-economic environment.

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan notes that the successful economies of the future will be those that invest in the education, skills and abilities of their inhabitants.

So, experts in which field of activity will be most in demand?

engineering specialties

According to experts, in the very near future, engineering specialties related to industrial production will take the lead. The most demanding today are manufacturers, specialists in the field of transport, technological machinery and equipment, as well as machinists. They are followed by metallurgists, electrical engineers, workers in the fields of oil and gas, computer technology, radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications, as well as technology and design of light industry products. And then there are experts in the field of mining, automation and control, instruments and mechanical thermal energy.

Analysts note that there is currently a severe shortage of professional engineers, technicians and mid-level executives in production. The combination of technical and economic or legal education, knowledge of English or any other European language will be highly appreciated. The demand for engineers and marketing managers is growing in all industries.

Computer hardware and computer programmers

A programmer is an expert who creates and fixes software and maintains its performance.

The image of the company is becoming more and more important today and the website is nothing more than an indicator of the level and reliability of the organization. As a result, web design is one of the highest paid “computer” professions.

Nanotechnology

The next most sought after professions in the near future are related to nanotechnology.

Nanotechnologies are technologies based on working with molecules and atoms, using the most hidden and valuable properties of matter. Nanotechnology is a huge field that can be divided into three parts: microchip production, nanoscale robots and atomic engineering. It will soon connect with all industriesin theκι.

Biotechnologies are technologies that use biological systems and their components.

Currently, biotechnologies are widely used in agriculture, where genetically modified products are produced using genetic engineering and microbiological methods. Biotechnologies are used in molecular medicine, biopharmaceuticals and other industries.

Logistics

The logistics industry is of utmost importance for the operation of the business. The profession of logistician is suitable for those who are burdened by rigid frameworks in their work, do not like standards and constraints. To make a successful career, a curator will need analytical mind and systemic thinking, intuition, ability to quickly find a way out of difficult situations, communication skills, communication skills. One can not do without practical experience, as well as without deep knowledge of mathematics, technology, current legislation and, of course, without an understanding of business principles. Many entrepreneurs are convinced that a good curator can only be a player by nature, gifted with the talent to move goods and loads, such as pieces on a chessboard.

Ecology

The term “ecology” began in 1866. And in the future, the problems of environmental protection will occupy an increasing place in our lives. The increase in harmful emissions into the atmosphere places environmental problems in one of the first places in the future world. On the one hand, the demand for professional ecologists will begin to increase and on the other hand, the range of requirements for environmentalists will expand.

Medical specialties

Medicine is successfully using the advances in the field of electronics, biotechnologies, which are just being created today, are being researched and in 10 years, they will surely be put into practice, they will become a common practice in medicine.

Chemistry

Chemistry experts will be in high demand in the energy sector. Alternative energy will be needed more than ever. Chemistry is the science of innovation and the future.

food industry

The diet of the future, according to most forecasts, is not, unfortunately, natural, “natural” food, but food with an ever-increasing proportion of additives or obtained from sources unknown to us. Food industry professionals with knowledge of biology and engineering will become the main food producers for the inhabitants of the vast majority of countries.

urban planning

Earth is fast becoming a planet of cities, not villages. According to the UN, in 2025 the percentage of the urban population will increase to 77%. According to Pricewaterhouse Cooper’s, the population of the 30 largest metropolitan areas will increase by 27% by 2025. The design, construction and maintenance of new, fast-growing metropolitan areas should be a category of specialists who can create a comfortable urban environment. . The state and private construction companies will create a great demand for specialists in the integrated development of areas (transport, social sphere, attracting investments, etc.), especially in urban areas.

Meanwhile, the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan named the most popular and unpopular specialties among applicants. This year, among those professions that is in demand among applicants, named: international relations, jurisprudence, customs, journalism, planning, finance, accounting and auditing, management, state and local government. Specializations such as mining, geology and exploration of mineral deposits, metallurgy, engineering, instrument making, technology, wood processing of wood products remained unsolicited.

Interesting fact: Holders of Altyn Belgi most often choose general medicine, information systems, economics, radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications, economics, accounting and auditing, international relations, Kazakh language literature, translation, law, journalism, automation and management, dentistry, pharmacy and construction.

At the same time, there are a number of professions in which the minimum base and experience are only achieved through self-education – because universities do not yet train specialists in these fields. This is the case, for example, with computer program testers. In a technical university they are given the necessary foundation, they study programming languages, they write dissertations. At the same time, however, few study the principles and methodologies of testing.

Therefore, all that remains for the children to do is to visit the forums on their own, to study the documentation, to participate in conferences, acquiring the necessary professionalism.

All the mentioned professional areas of work activity are pioneers in attracting young people, but the staff market is not limited to them. The areas of consulting, finance, banking, investment, marketing, advertising and public relations are also actively attracting young people. And among the vacancies there are also positions of novice specialists, including in reputable companies in the relevant professional fields.

Anyway, but for fruitful work in the organization, every young specialist, without a doubt, needs to have high professionalism. This bar is constantly growing and the employee must be ready for regular training. And, regardless of age. If a person strives for self-improvement, self-education, development, it is useful for the company and it will grow with it.
